Wooowwwwwwww...I can't believe 3 months have passed since my last post. Let's see what I can sum up...Still in cosmetology school. This is my last full week of school. I will be graduating next Thursday morning (Aug. 6) Now that its coming to an end it seems like I just started. I'm ready to move on with my life. I've been in school 10 months. Graduating a week early and the first one of 26 people that started with me to actually graduate. I'm very proud.
Let's see what else, my baby turned 9 last Tuesday (the 21st) That was emotional for me. He's growing up. We had a party the Sat. before and there was 9 kids that came out to celebrate with him. They bowled, did laser tag and had pizza, cake and drinks. He got TONS of toys, games and money. Then on Tuesday, he took cupcakes to school to share with everyone that he couldn't invite. He is such a thoughtful kid. Always thinking of others. I hope its a trait he'll never lose.
He will be starting 4th grade at the end of August and he is so ready. We bought all school supplies over the last couple of weeks and it has just made him a little bit excited. I think shopping for school clothes is going to probably send him over the top. lol
That about sums up the last 3 months. Nothing major, school, work and rest is about it. I'm hoping to go on a family vacation when I graduate. If my husband can get off. If not, we'll just go to Six Flags are something.

School related and some other stuff (PIC HEAVY)
First, I never posted after I got my new baby gadget. I posted about dropping by ipod classic at school and sending her to ipod heaven. A few weeks later I got my new baby.
The 16g Ipod touch...I love this little piece of technology. The only thing I hate is 1) it's only 16g(was not about to shell out $400 for the 32g) 2) Can't instantly get on the internet. But I love ALL the apps I've gotten. They have kept me pretty sane during some boring times at school. I also like that when watching movies, etc they play pretty much the length of the screen and also you tube plays VERY clear. I bought the clear case at Walmart cause I'm always dropping stuff. lol But overall, I'm very satisfied with this ipod.
On to some school related stuff, this is one of my favorite clients. When she first started coming to me her hair was brittle, dry, broken off all over and above her ears. I took this picture this past Saturday. She was so excited to see the progress.
These pictures were taken Easter weekend. We have been rollersetting her hair every week to keep her from having to do her hair every morning and adding heat and/or products. I trim her ends every 6 to 8 weeks to make sure she is clear of split ends and we relax when we need to. This particular weekend she wanted something fun, cute and girly for Easter. So I gave her the ever so popular little hump in the front and on each sides we just put up some fun twists and pinned them in place with bobby pins. This do was seriously so easy to do. The hair was already molded and curly so the hump didn't even have to be teased, just pinned into place. Same thing with the twists. For the curls, I just put a little style wax on my fingertips and finger combed through the curls. To finish, I used a little bit of spray shine by Paul Mitchell. Mind you, she is only 13-years-old, so she was ECSTATIC when I finished. I was pretty pleased myself. :)
This is an updo I created on a mannequin about 2 months ago. All I did was a classic rollerset, then took some holding spray and started pincurling all the pieces into place whereever they fell. This was actually busy work one day I wasn't real busy, but I actually liked the finish look.
This is actually a classmate. We were suppose to pick an Era(50's,60's,etc) and recreate a look from that time. Me being such a rebel, just gave her a look I was feeling and it turned out really good. So they labeled it as 80's rock. (whatever floats your boat, lol)
I gave her a really smokey eye, a lipstick that was a dead-on match for the tone of her lips. As for the hair, alot of teasing and alot of hair spray. Then we went on a photo spree around the building. lol
Another favorite cause it really conveys the message..I guess. At least that's what the teacher said.

This one was just for fun. lol
I think that's enough catching up for the night. lol
WHAT!?!?!?
I cannot believe I have let a MONTH go by with no blog posts. I have been trying to post for the last couple days but just haven't had the chance. Got sick, then busy, then still sick, etc. Anyways, I have so much to update so I guess I'll do it in increments and just take it a day at a time.
First up a new "DO". I have been in limbo as to what to do to my own hair. I don't know too many hairstylists that like to do their own hair, and I AM NO EXCEPTION. I don't like to do my own hair. Let me rephrase, I don't like to do my own hair ALOT. I like to experiment, I'm a stylists thats what I do. So I was addicted to weaves and wigs for a while but needed to let my hair breathe and to be honest I hadn't had time in the last 2 months or so to take care of my hair so I really had been wanting a cut, to start over fresh. So I finally CHOPPED ALL MY HAIR OFF...
I really love my new cut. I can literally wake up, run my fingers through my hair to spike it up and GO. One thing I do hate, is my hair after a fresh perm, it is bone straight and won't do much of anything, so it's good it's short. My hair is thin right now as it is, but I'm not too worried about it because my hair grows thick before it grows long anyway, plus I've started taking Biotin again, so it'll thicken up in no time.
I found 2 products that I love to use for short hair. It's the Sebastian Molding Mud & Bed Head Manipulator. The Molding mud is good for the back and sides of my hair. You would think with it being a "mud" it would be wax-y and greasy. But it's not, and it also leaves a shine on the hair. Not a heavy product at all. The Bed Head on the other hand, is a product that I wouldn't use unless I really was trying to mold the hair a certain way. I use it to give my bang a wispy,
piece-y look. And it will HOLD. So I wouldn't suggest it for longer hair unless you go real funky and rock out a faux-hawk or something.
I guess that's enough on this post. As said before, I love the new cut and it's going to be short for a minute. Short hair is just easier to maintain for me. So we'll see what it's looking like a couple weeks from now.

Picture Overload
Man, so much has been going on. I'm tired, it's midnight and I should be in bed but yet I'm updating my blog. lol I'll pay for it in 5 hours when my alarm goes off. Anyway, I have pics galore from different events, etc. So I'll just post those for now.
I took these on a Saturday night on my way out to celebrate my friend's 33rd birthday. We had a blast and I think this is probably my fave m/u combo to date. I switched foundations. Instead of my usual Mac mineralized skinfinish, I switched to Milani's Caramel and I love it. Great coverage and very light on my face.

I almost forgot to take a pic of this cute pink look, so I hurried and snapped soon as I came home. I found the cutest bracelet/earring set at Walmart and that was sort of my inspiration for that day.
This look was so cute and airy. It was neutral but I liked it alot. I almost forgot to take the pics before we went out to dinner but I managed to squeeze in 2.
I have so many other pics and updates I would like to get on here but my eyelids are cursing me out right now so I am going to bed.

Today's Look
I wasn't trying but I got the "you have Mardi Gras eyes" from alot of people today. Most mornings I don't really know what I'm going to do as far as makeup until I sit down at my table and start. This morning I thought it was going to be neutrals again but decided to pull out my old Urban Decay Deluxe palette that I haven't used in forever. Purple & Gold was standing out to me. So I used Honey, Ransom & the lighter purple that I can't think of the name. My faavorite L'oreal liquid liner and Maybelline Colassal mascara. On the lips I used Nyx Purple Rain lip pencil & Nyx Pandora lipstick, I used Mac's Miss Dynamite dazzleglass on top.
It looks more like LSU school colors to me than Mardi Gras. If I was doing Mardi Gras I would've added some green. :) You can click the picture to make bigger. (I think) I did my first collage in Picasa. I've never used it and it was fairly easy and something different.

Have a good evening.
